What is inclusion?
What is diversity? What is "D&I" anyway?
Ask 10 people these questions and you will get 10 different answers. We briefly list the key ones here.
Diversity is the fact that everyone is different.
Inclusion means valuing everyone's differences and allowing everyone to be included. In an inclusive environment, people feel at home because they are seen, heard, and treated equally.
It's all about how your message is perceived. How something is experienced. The intention, the purpose of an action is secondary.
It is this last point that makes D&I particularly challenging. Inclusion listens carefully. Achieving inclusion is more like a marathon than a sprint.
In addition, there are many aspects, each of which are important within the inclusion practice. Therefore, RUAS is working on several, diverse initiatives.

An Inclusive learning environment is one in which the education professional is aware of the consequences of stereotyping, exclusion, and their own prejudices. In an inclusive work environment, everyone can be themselves. The organisation creates equal opportunities; inclusive behaviour and skills are taught and developed. Visit the workshop “Always different” and discuss afterwards or join the workshop “Increase your study and work happiness”
Inclusive communication is free of stereotypes, assumptions, and unconscious biases. It also does not discriminate based on diversity characteristics. Inclusive language includes individuals. As a result, you address a larger group of people both internally and externally.
